Prime Minister Barzani stressed, “To reduce our dependency on oil and gas, we need to advance to a new era of growth and development based on tourism, agriculture, and industrialization. Through this exhibition, I invite private sector entrepreneurs and investors, both foreign and domestic, to come to the Kurdistan Region and invest in tourism sector.”

As the Kurdistan Regional Government, we regard the development of a contemporary cinema industry and establishment of national institutes for cinema as very necessary for setting a new pathway for the Kurdish cinema, and it can become a cultural foundation so that our cinema sector will embark on a prosperous future.
Tourism in Kurdistan Region hits record high this year

In the first six months of 2018, 1.3 million tourists visited the Kurdistan Region, mostly from central and southern Iraq. During the 11-day Eid al-Adha holiday, there were 349,000 tourists, spending 140 billion dinars in the Region.
