Prime Minister Barzani meets European officials in Munich

Erbil, Kurdistan Region, Iraq (cabinet.gov.krd) – A Kurdistan Regional Government senior delegation, led by Prime Minister Nechirvan Barzani met European senior officials in the sidelines of the first day of Munich Security Conference in Germany.

Prime Minister Barzani met senior German officials, including Minister of Defense, Ursula von der Leyen and State Secretary of the Federal Foreign Office, Walter Lindner.

The Kurdistan leaders met Norwegian Minister of Foreign Affairs, Ine Eriksen Soreide and Italian Foreign Minister, Angelino Alfano.

Prime Minister Barzani also met a delegation from the Foreign Relations Committee of the German Parliament, headed by Mr. Rudrich Kisvette, a Special Representative for Foreign Affairs of the German Parliament.

Bilateral relations, regional and global developments, the fight against terrorism, the upcoming elections in Iraq and the Kurdistan Region and the latest progress in the talks between the Erbil and Baghdad were discussed during the meetings.

The Kurdistan Region delegation comprises of Masrour Barzani, Chancellor of the Kurdistan Region Security Council, Dr. Fuad Hussein, Chief of Staff to the Kurdistan Region Presidency, Falah Mustafa, Head of Department of Foreign Relations, and Dilshad Barzani, representative of the Kurdistan Regional Government in Germany.
