Erbil, Kurdistan Region, Iraq (cabinet.gov.krd) – Leading a Kurdistan Regional Government delegation, Prime Minister Nechirvan Barzani met with Iraqi Prime Minister, Mr. Haider Al-Abadi.

The delegation included KRG Deputy Prime Minister Qubad Talabani and the Chief of Staff of the Kurdistan Region Presidency, Dr Fuad Hussain.

Political and security developments in the region and resolution of outstanding issues on the basis of the Iraqi Constitution were discussed.

Developments in recent negotiations between KRG and Iraqi government teams were discussed, including topics pertaining to the petroleum industry, payment of monthly compensation to authorized recipients, border entry point operations, and resumption of international flights.

After the meeting, Prime Minister Barzani and his delegation flew to Tehran, the capital of the Islamic Republic of Iran.
